Workshops, Training & Groups

Developmental Groups in Organisations

Drawing on my abilities as an experienced group worker, therapist and teacher and using drama and dramatherapy techniques, I can offer bespoke, developmental sessions to explore and illuminate issues and dynamics within teams. Workshops can, for example, usefully address assertiveness, team building, goal setting and managing change. I have successfully offered workshops, continuing professional development and training sessions to therapists, trainee therapists counsellors at an inner-city mental health outreach project, mental health practitioners on a youth access team and to a counselling team working in a hospice. I am very open to the idea of working in different organizations and would always look to design imaginative, engaging workshops that fit the particular needs of a specific group. I am happy to have a preliminary, no-strings attached session to explore the possibility and appropriateness of delivering a workshop.

Creative/Expressive Workshops

As well as an abiding involvement with and passion for creative writing and drama I have also had a long-term commitment to my own personal development. Some years ago, I decided to bring these two strands of my life together in the shape of workshops mixing dramatherapy technique, creative writing, art, song movement, and reflection. For quite a few years now I have offered week-long courses, presently entitled ‘Write In the Moment’, at one of Europe’s leading alternative holiday centres, Cortijo Romero in Andalucia, Spain. I’ve also offered a year long version of this course delivered in monthly weekend sessions in the UK. Whether in short form or long these workshops offers a powerful group experience in which new awareness can come to light and both feelings and creativity can flourish and flow.
